Blatant lies and falsehood by Nasiruddin Shah in the Movie “Khuda Kay Liye” exposed

This article will expose the blatant lies and falsehood that was told by Nasiruddin Shah in the movie “Khuda Kay Liye”. Many ignorant Muslims feel that he spoke very well and he had a point to make and many such Muslims were taken in by these lies.
Nasiruddin Shah spoke at least 4 lies in what he spoke in the court. The Qur’an says
This exactly what satan does, he makes you say things about Allah of which you have no knowledge.
“and do not follow the footsteps of the evil one, for he is to you an avowed enemy. For he commands you what is evil and shameful, and that ye should say of Allah that of which ye have no knowledge. “ (Quran 2:168-169)
If he said these things intentionally then its devilish and if he said them out of ignorance then its inexcusable. The Qur'an warns the Muslims
“O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.” (Quran 49:6)
Lets expose the lies
1st lie : Music is Halal (lawful) in Islam:
Nasiruddin Shah said that Music is halal (lawful) in Islam. The evidence that he gave for such a claim
(i) The miracle given to Prophet David (pbuh) was music. He used to sing in such a beautiful voice that even birds and mountains used to sing with him. With this beautiful voice he used to sing the praises of Allah.
(ii) Prophet (pbuh) liked the recitation of Abu Musa Ashari and he said that you have the harp of David (pbuh).
(iii) Ansar were lovers of Music and Prophet (SAW) sent them 2 girls to sing
My Response:
Hazrat Dawood (AS) was given a very melodious human voice and he sang with that. No where is it mentioned in the Qur’an or the Hadith that he accompanied that with Musical instruments.
Even if Hazrat Dawood (AS) accompanied that with musical instruments, does this prove anything? Does this really prove that musical instruments are lawful? Some would reply “YES”.
So my next question to them is “Is it permissible to do sajda (prostration) in front of another human being in his honor?” suppose you go to king’s palace to meet him, can you prostrate before him in his honor? The answer would be “NO”. But why?
Using Nasiruddin Shah’s logic, its permissible to prostrate before another human being. He said that how can it be possible that Allah forbids music and also gives it to Prophet David (pbuh). Using the same logic, its permissible to bow before another human being because Allah commanded angels to bow down before Adam in his honor
“And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down” (Quran
Before Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) it was permissible to prostrate before another human being in his honor. Prophet Jacob (pbuh) and his 11 sons bowed down before Hazrat Yusuf (AS)
“And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity), and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him.” (Quran 12:100)
The magicians bowed down before Prophet Moses (pbuh) when they accepted Allah and Prophet Moses (pbuh)
“So the magicians were thrown down to prostration: they said, "We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses". (Quran 20:70)
So is it allowed to prostrate before another human being in his honor? Of course it is NOT! After Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) no human being can bow down before another human being but previously it was allowed and Allah commanded angels to bow down before Adam (pbuh).
So its an absolutely flawed logic that musical instruments are permissible just because Prophet David (pbuh) was given musical instruments.
We cannot judge things today from laws and commandments that came before Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
(ii) The Prophet (pbuh) liked the recitation of Abu Musa Ashari and said that you have been given musical wind instrument of David.
This again doesn’t prove anything. He was reciting the Qur’an with his human voice and the Prophet (pbuh) liked it and he compared that with Prophet David (pbuh). This doesn’t prove anything at all. In fact, we are to recite Qur’an beautifully with our God given human voice.
(iii) Prophet (pbuh) sent to ansar girls to sing.
They were young girls, who hadn’t reach maturity at that time. They sang using a duff (one side open drum). Based on this, many scholars agree that its permissible to use duff but other Musical instruments yet remain unlawful. Where does it say so?
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 69, Number 494v:
Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari:
that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful.
“Consider it lawful” meaning they are actually unlawful and people will make it lawful
This hadith clearly forbids music. There are other hadith as well.
“The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: “A people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name. Merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn others into apes and swine.” (Sunan Ibn-Maja)
These two hadith clearly forbid musical instrument, only duff is an exception. It is also a proof of the Prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh). See how clearly he has stated that there will be people in the Ummah who will make musical instruments lawful.
Even the four imams, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal and Imam Malik, all of them agreed that musical instruments are haraam!
2nd Lie : Muslim girl can get married to a Jew or a Christian
Nasiruddin Shah said that a Muslim girl can marry a Jew or a Christian. Lets examine this claim
My Response
Another big lie! I challenge any Muslim to bring me any verse of the Qur’an or any sahih (authentic) hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) which says a Muslim girl can get married to a Jew or a Christian.
A Muslim man can marry a Jewish or a Christian woman. The Qur’an says
“(Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book,” (Quran 5:5)
Its permissible for a Muslim to marry a Jewish or a Christian woman if these 3 conditions are satisfied.
- She should not be the one associating partners with Allah. In case, its a Christian then she should not be a churchgoer because Qur’an forbids marriage to those women who ascribe partners to Allah (Quran 2:221). Only those Jewish women and Christian women are allowed who believe in the Oneness of Allah and do not ascribe partners to him. Allah says that there are believers among People of the book.
“If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.” (Quran 3:110)
- She should be a moral woman
- She should be a chaste woman.
Only if the above three conditions are satisfied, the Christian or a Jewish woman is lawful for marriage.
But its not permissible in any case for a Muslim woman to marry a Jew or a Christian.
3rd Lie : Only 4 out of 124,000 Prophets were given books
Nasiruddin Shah said that only 4 out of 124,000 Prophets of Allah were given revelation.
My Response:
This is a blatant lie. Lets see what the Qur’an says
“For each period is a Book (revealed).” (Qur’an 13:38)
In fact, every Rasool (messenger) of Allah was given a revelation. Rasool by definition means a Prophet who has been given “risalat” i.e. a book, laws and commandments.
Difference between a Prophet (Nabi) and a Messenger (Rasool)
Rasool is a person to whom “risalat” is given i.e. Scripture, Laws etc. Nabi is an ordinary Prophet to whom these things are not given.
Every Rasool (Messenger) is a Prophet (Nabi) whereas every Prophet(Nabi) is not a messenger. (Rasool)
If I say that this student has passed standard 5, it is understood that he has passed standard 3. Every one who has passed standard 5 has passed standard 3 but not the vice versa. Everyone who has passed standard 3 has not passed standard 5.
Other messengers were also given revelations
18. And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),-
19. The Books of Abraham and Moses. (Quran 87:18-19)
The Qur’an explicitly tells us that even Prophet Abraham (pbuh) was given a book. So are there only 4 Prophets who are given books? No!! Though these 4 books are the ones mentioned by name in the Qur’an but these are not the only books that Allah revealed.
4th Lie:
Jesus, Moses, David and Muhammad (Peace be upon them all) are superior to all other Prophets of Allah
My Response:
I would like anyone to bring any verse in the Qur’an or any Sahih (Authentic) Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) where he said that these 4 messengers are superior to others. Though we Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is above all other messengers, but no where is it mentioned that these 4 are above other 123,996 Prophets of Allah. The Quran does mention
“Those apostles We endowed with gifts, some above others: To one of them Allah spoke; others He raised to degrees (of honour);” (Quran 2:253)
There are some ups and downs among the messengers but no where is it mentioned that these 4 are above all others.
We Muslims are also forbidden to belittle any Prophet of Allah. We respect and revere them all. We are not to look down upon any. The Quran says
“The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. in Allah, His angels, His books, and His apostles. "We make Each one (of them) believeth no distinction (they say) between one and another of His apostles." (Quran 2:285)
We honor all of them and we cannot belittle or look down upon any of them.
Mockery of Islam
This whole film made a mockery of Islam and Muslims. The director of this movie, Shoaib Mansoor claims to be a Muslim. How can any Muslim mock any teaching of Islam? How can any Muslim mock anything that Allah says or his messenger says? Just out of fear of mockery and ridicule many Muslims feel ashamed of practicing their religion. Mocking any teaching of Islam or hating any teaching of Islam is plain Kufr (disbelief) in Islam. The Qur’an says
“And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking? : Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief.” (Quran 9:65-66)
The Quran says
“The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah bestows His abundance without measure on whom He will.” (Quran 2:212)
Conclusion:
Inshallah this article will convince any sincere person and will also be useful against those Muslims who keep giving reference to this movie. Its the nature of falsehood to perish. Allah says
“Nay, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brain, and behold, falsehood doth perish!” (Quran 21:18)
“And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish." (Quran 17:81)
May Allah guide us all to the Truth. Ameen !
