Concept of One True God and no idol worship
Hindu scriptures in reality speak about One True Almighty God and are against idol worship which most Hindus do. The following article will clearly prove that.
A. Bhagvad Geeta :
It’s the most widely read of all Hindu Scriptures. Its mentioned
(i) “Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires worship demigods” (Bhagvad Geeta
Compare it with the following Quranic verse
“Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).” (Quran 4:116)
Bhagvad Geeta says
“He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds—he, undeluded among men, is freed from all sins.” (Bhagvad Geeta 10:3)
The Qualities of God mentioned in the above verse
- He is unborn and beginningless (Meaning he is eternal)
- He is Supreme Lord of all the worlds
Compare it with the following Quranic verses.
“Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;” (Quran 112:2)
“Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds (Rubul Alameen),” (Quran 1:2)
B. Upanishads
These are also among the sacred scriptures of Hinduism. Its mentioned
“He is one only without a second”. (Chandogya Upanishad Chapter 6 Section 2 Verse 1)
Compare it with the following verse
“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;” (Quran 112:1)
Its mentioned
“Of him there is no master in the world, no ruler, nor is there any mark of him. He is the cause, the lord of the lords of the sense organs; of him there is neither progenitor nor lord”. (Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9)
Compare it with the following
“He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;” (Quran 112:3)
Its mentioned
“There is no likeness of him”. (Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19)
Compare it with the following verses
“And there is none like unto Him.” (Quran 112:4)
“there is nothing whatever like unto Him” (Quran 42:11)
Its mentioned
“his form cannot be seen, no one sees him with the eye” (Svetasvatara Upanishad
Compare it with the following
“No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.” (Quran 6:103)
C. Vedas
There are four types of Vedas. Rigveda, YajurVeda, Samveda and Athervaved. They are the most authentic of all Hindu Scriptures
Yajurveda
“There is no image of Him” (Yajurved 32:3)
Compare it with the following
“And there is none like unto Him.” (Quran 112:4)
“They enter darkness, those who worship natural things” For e.g. air, water, fire etc. It further continues and says, “They sink deeper in darkness those who worship Sambhuti i.e. created things”, (Yajurved 40:9)
Compare it with the following
“O men! Call to mind the grace of God unto you! is there a creator, other than God, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He: how then are ye deluded away from the Truth? (Quran 35:3)
“He is body less and pure” (Yajur Veda 40:8)
Same as
“And there is none like unto Him.” (Quran 112:4)
Rigveda
It happens to be the oldest of the four Vedas according to Hindu Scholars. Its mentioned
“Sages (learned Priest) call one God by many names” (Rigved book 1 hymn 164 v.46)
Compare it with the following
“Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names.” (Quran 17:110)
Same as
“And there is none like unto Him.” (Quran 112:4)
God is mentioned as Ila (Allah) is the following places:
Rigveda Book 2 hymn 1 verse 11
Rigveda Book 3 hymn 30 verse 10
Rigveda Book 9 hymn 67 verse 30
Amongst the various Upanishads one of the Upanishads is named as ‘Allo’ Upanishad in which God is referred to as “Allah” several times.
Is Idol required for concentration?
Some people may say that the idol is just for concentration and they do not worship idol as god. If the idol is required for concentration because the mind initially hasn’t got that high level of consciousness, then the Muslims have already reached that higher level of consciousness since we do not require any idol to concentrate.
The Vedas and Hindu Scriptures are against idol worship and a Hindu should follow that. One should not try to manipulate religion the way he/she wishes. Hindu Scriptures are clearly against idol worship.
Only the person who worships God alone without any partners is the one who is freed from all sins.
“He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds—he, undeluded among men, is freed from all sins.” (Bhagvad Geeta 10:3)
According to Bhagvad Geeta only that person who knows God as beginning less and supreme lord of the worlds will be freed from all sins.
“Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet.” (Bhagvad Geeta 7:23)
Those who worship demigods or idols will go to the planet of false gods i.e. hell fire but those who worship God Almighty Alone will go to his planet i.e. The
A similar type of message is also given in the Holy Quran
“Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.” (Quran 4:48)
Therefore worship God Almighty Alone and be benefited.
