The Quran says

The incident of Gar-e-Hira i.e. the cave of Hira where Muhammad (pbuh) got the first revelation prophesied in the Bible!

By

Shais

The Bible mentions.

“And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.(Isaiah 29:12)

The prophecy would be fulfilled if these conditions are met.

  1. The person who is given the divine book should not be learned. In other words, he should be an illiterate person.
  2. When he is commanded to “read” he will reply “I am not learned”

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was illiterate. The Quran testifies it.

“Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered (Ummi) Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper." (Quran 7:157)

Now lets see the incident that took place in cave of Hira.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:

“He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read

This is the fulfillment of the prophecy mentioned in Isaiah 29:12. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the one who was not learned and when he was commanded to “read” the Prophet replied “I do not know how to read” in other words “I am not learned”!
